I made Cursillo #19 in Peoria 40 yours ago. It was probably the most formative experience of my spiritual life. It set me free to follow Jesus in ways that I had set aside in my life. The Peoria Cu...

Dear fr. John,
Sunday's service made for a beautiful day. The art of all the surroundings created just the desired effect. My red petunia came from little Wheeler. What a special blessing.
This morning I was reading day two of our Mother's Day gift, Bouquets of Blessings. I don't know if you are following along with us women or not, but day two is “Blessed: Preparing to Plant.”
When I experience the results of your work and your sacrifices, yours and Lindas, who couldn't wish our numbers at Bread of Life reflected many more present to enjoy! Yet, this am that thought is quickly dismissed. “Take heart, for preparing the soil is not up to you; it's up to the Gardener.” What a glorious thought!
Though I didn't remember Chris Gardener's name, I could never forget the movie, “The Pursuit of Happyness,” or his story. What an amazing moment that must have been for you! When you tell of encounters like this and the way God is working in your life I see the Holy Spirit 'penetrating deeply and fully circulating in preparation.”
Day one was: “Gardens that flourish enjoy just the right location, a location chosen so that whatever is planted can bloom to its full potential.” Like Bread of Life? The location has been chosen. Is this the preparing for planting stage?
The rest of the paragraph reads:
“Take heart, for preparing the soil is not up to you; it's up to the gardener. God, the Master Gardener, has turned the soil of your heart over and removed the rocks and weeds of sin through the death and resurrection of his very own son, Jesus Christ. The “living water” of the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39) will penetrate deeply and will fully circulate. And if the rocks and thorns reappear, our Gardener patiently removes them, again and again, forgiving our sins at the cross of Jesus and giving us fresh start, with mercies, new every morning.” Yes, I loved this whole last paragraph. It spoke to me in many ways besides the most direct and important.
Not only have I tried to hear God's mind and heart in todays meditation, but I found myself in study of this particular paragraph's sentence construction. I've read, meditated, written a lot, deleted a lot, moved around, and thought some more.
What is God doing by telling me to write every day? How is it I have peace spending this time writing when I am way over my time, for my own agenda this morning. My work that I feel I already don't have enough hours in the day for, to produce the income I need, waits. I hope that I am seeking the kingdom first, and all those other things will fall into place.
I believe it's certainly true for Bread of Life!
Gods blessings,
Dena
Thank you for the book!
I know I speak for many when I say, “Thank You!” for all you are and do as fr. John.
Bread of Life is a wonderful place. From the smallest things you might think go unnoticed, to the larger fundemental ones that you were God's first choice for- you are loved, admired, and deeply appreciated:)
This “Congratulations!” for you is fresh in my mind because since my website has gone up, a large part of the joy coming from my accomplishment, has come from my loved ones rejoicing with me and seeing them excited about it. “You did it!” “Great job!” I give God all the glory and credit. But I listened to Him, trusted Him, and worked hard for it. It feels good to see that He took something out of me and did something with it. It has my character, my stamp.
This is just for that part of Bread of Life that has your stamp on it, John. “You did it!” “Great job!” I believe God sees it and says, “ It is good.”
(It will be interesting to see where God leads BOL from here.)
In Christ's Love,
Dena
Blessings,
